About Dave EnigmaEnigma
It wasn't until 1996 that I began mixing on the wheels of steel, when my uncle donated a very old set of belt drives and a mixer to me and my brother and
that is where it all started. Deathrow Techno and Steam became my home from there and later North when it moved to Club Zinc in Rhyl and then to the
Void, Stoke on Trent.

I began a regular pilgrimage to Rhyl to the world's best record shop 3rd Planet Records, owned by Greg Dolphin. We became good friends and the grand master proved to be inspirational as he helped me build up a formidable record collection.

In 1999 while at Staffs University I happened to meet Dj Tones, who was seeking fellow "Deathchant techno head and Diehard nutters" on the university message forums and from there we met Joe ET at North. Sharing a love of big dirty and hard kickdrums the 3 of us instantly struck a chord with each other and so began a incredibly messy reign of 'terror' at 96 Corporation Street, a student house in the middle of Stafford famed for it's notorious after North parties..
CS Spray, paint ball guns and speedcore at 6am became the order of things.

Having entered the North Dogs Bollox competition every year since 1997 and blagging my way on to the decks at various parties in and around Stafford, it kicked off for me in big style in January 2001 after finally getting through to the finals of the North Dogs Bollox competition at the Void in Stoke, lining up against the TerrorisT, the Nightmare Man and Stride. I went on to win the competition, earning myself regular bookings at North through Andy (Vortex) Bowler.

Regular bookings at North followed as did bookings at Species before Joe ET and Tom Brown invited me to join them in launching Oblivion at Club Soho in Leicester.
For 2 years we put on some of the most diverse and experimental electronic hardcore nights inviting artists and dj's from all over the country and beyond.

I've played numerous styles of hardcore from 4/4 kickdrum driven techno, gabber and speedcore to drum and bass, broken beats, breakcore and noise.
However with roots firmly stuck in hardcore techno, I'll always be a kickdrum junkie.

Having had a very successful return to the scene with Oblivion, I'm focusing on making it a massive success while  bringing underground Hardcore Techno
back to it's spiritual home in Stoke on Trent alongside Tom Brown and Joe ET.

Below are some of the parties that I played between 2001 and 2009, thanks to everyone involved for some very special nights indeed!
